About Andrew...

Andrew joined NUS-USI in March 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience, creativity and passion for creating change. With expertise in project management, public relations, and communication, Andrew is an Accredited Practitioner at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and is a current committee member of CIPR Northern Ireland.

Throughout his career, Andrew has been actively involved in campaigning, peacebuilding, and advocacy. Notably, he co-founded the All-island Schools 4 Climate Action programme as the Communications & Engagement Officer at Co-operation Ireland. This initiative provided schools across the island of Ireland with environmental learning opportunities and campaign development skills.

In 2021, Andrew served as a cross-border project officer in Ulster University's Provost's office, managing the American Conference for Irish Studies, an international academic conference. The conference featured distinguished speakers, including President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins and prominent figures like Pat Hume and the UK and Irish Ambassadors to the US. He also gained media coverage for his innovative "Room-A-Thon" fundraising campaign, where he ran 15 kilometres within the confines of a small COVID-quarantine hotel room in Barcelona, as featured by BBC World News, the Irish Times, and Forbes Magazine.

Currently pursuing an MSc in Communications & Public Relations at Ulster University, Andrew holds a journalism degree and previously served as the President of Ulster University Students' Union. He also studied journalism abroad at the prestigious University of Richmond in Virginia, USA.
